This couple had an amazing, spring wedding in April at the Fountain of Youth. The ceremony was under the century old trees along the waterfront and the reception was under the pavilion. During cocktail hour, the guests enjoyed the perfect weather and spring breeze under the trees.
During the bride and groom's portrait session, we explored the grounds at the Fountain of Youth and Magnolia Avenue. On our way out of the gates, there was gorgeous light by the statue of Ponce de Leon and the flags. We had to take advantage of the sunshine coming through the trees. Because I was using my favorite lens, the Nikon 70-200mm, I was able to be fairly far away from them and compressing the background to bring the focus to the couple.
I stood back from the high school sweethearts to give them a few minutes of privacy. The only instructions I gave them were to get close to each other. They naturally went into this sweet moment. The couple had been together for a number of years before getting married and the highly anticipated day everyone looked forward to. Prior to the wedding, the couple lost everything when Hurricane Matthew hit St Augustine. Getting to this day was emotional for many reasons!
