Military Wedding Ceremony at the Fort in St Augustine

This image of the bride and groom was taken almost immediately after they were pronounced husband and wife. Their ceremony at Castillo de San Marcos was full of warm sunshine, but not before a normal Florida rain storm.

The clouds appeared just minutes before the bride was scheduled to walk down the aisle. Thankfully, Michelle with Coastal Celebrations was the wedding planner and she was fully prepared. Umbrellas were given out before the rain drops hit the ground. Pop up canopy tents were placed quickly and efficiently - the men in the bridal party took care of those.

Outdoor ceremonies in Florida should always have an outdoor plan, especially in the summer. We're often fortunate to have just a few minutes of rain before the sun comes back. In this case, we had just that. We also had a beautiful double rainbow that faded through the ceremony.

My advice for outdoor ceremonies is to always have a wedding planner. In this case, the venue did not have a plan b as it is an exclusively outdoor venue. But, Coastal Celebrations knew exactly what to do and how to keep the guests dry while they waited out the rain. If this had been a situation without a wedding planner, or an inexperienced family member or friend, it could have been a disaster.
